Lauren Lassabe Shepherd, PhD is a historian of U.S. higher education. Her recent book is Resistance from the Right: Conservatives and the Campus Wars in Modern America (University of North Carolina Press, 2023). She is a Mississippi native and lifelong resident. She lives with her husband and their dogs along the Mississippi Gulf Coast.
