Actor Bill Murray randomly showed up at the White House on Friday, causing a stir among reporters by taking to the lectern in the James Brady Press Briefing Room. It’s not entirely clear why Murray was in the White House, but President Barack Obama confirmed for reporters that he had “absolutely” met with the “Caddyshack” and “Ghostbusters” star. A White House official later said Obama had congratulated the actor on winning this year’s Mark Twain Prize for American Humor. Obama, a White Sox fan, teased Murray about his attire – full-blown Cubs gear. "He was wearing a Cubs jacket, which for a White Sox fan is a little troubling,” Obama joked to reporters. Murray is due to receive his award at a ceremony Sunday at the Kennedy Center in Washington.
