A Missouri high school has been rocked by conflicting protests over which bathroom a transgender teen should use. Lila Perry, 17, asked to use the women’s restroom and locker room in school like all other girls, instead of a unisex bathroom she’d used the year before. Though the school allowed her to do so, about 150 people from her small town protested the decision outside her high school this week. Perry’s supporters in the school’s gay-straight alliance held a counterprotest in support.
