Jackie Evancho, an opera singer who achieved fame after competing in 2010 on America’s Got Talent, has agreed to sing the national anthem at Donald Trump’s inauguration. Evancho, now 16, met Trump at his Mar-a-Lago resort in Florida after earning second place on the show. She announced the decision on NBC’s Today show Wednesday. “I’m so excited. It’s going to be awesome,” Evancho said. Since competing on the reality-TV show, Evancho has become a crossover classical pop star, with a platinum and gold album and three Billboard 200 top-10 single debuts.
