Hannity Reveals the Secret of How Trump Lost 30 Pounds

The Fox host gossiped alongside RFK Jr. about the president’s apparent weight loss—and how he did it.

Donald Trump’s Health and Human Services Secretary RFK Jr. revealed the scale of the president’s apparent weight loss on Thursday night, claiming the fast-food fiend recently dropped 30 pounds.

Chatting alongside Fox host Sean Hannity in the second part of an interview that aired Tuesday night, Kennedy peddled more questionable medical theories regarding a deadly measles outbreak along the Texas-New Mexico border, while gossiping about the secrets behind the president’s efforts to slim down.

“You do work for a boss,” Hannity told Kennedy as the pair sat in a Florida Steak ’n Shake, a fast-food restaurant chain.

“Although he is getting healthier,” Hannity added.

Kennedy said he had met with Trump “yesterday” and said, “I think he’s lost 30 pounds.”

Hannity said Trump “looks great” and claimed the secret to his weight loss was taking the buns off his burgers.

“If he has a burger now, he usually doesn’t have it with a bun,” Hannity asserted.

Kennedy claimed he was unaware that Trump was deliberately making efforts to change his diet.

“We did talk about it, I hope I’m not revealing something I shouldn’t,” Hannity continued.

Trump has not spoken publicly of his weight goals, though in January 2024 Trump told Fox News’ Brian Kilmeade that he had lost 20 pounds, claiming it came “the hard way: I work.”

“I have been so busy. I haven’t been able to eat very much. I’m not able to sit down and eat like a person like you. You can sit down and eat. Me, it’s a little bit tougher,” Trump said.

The president is not exactly known for his healthy diet choices. In January, the iconic red Diet Coke button—that signals when Trump wants a chilled glass of his favorite drink—was restored on the president’s Resolute Desk.

In November, Kennedy was pictured alongside Trump and allies including Elon Musk on board the then-president-elect’s plane with a buffet of McDonald’s meals in front of them.

That same month, Kennedy trashed the president’s diet as “poison.”

“The stuff that he eats is really, like, bad,” he told marketing industry podcaster Joe Polish at a live recording of his eponymous show.

“Campaign food is always bad, but the food that goes onto that airplane is like just poison. You have a choice between—you don’t have the choice, you’re either given KFC or Big Macs. That’s when you’re lucky and then the rest of the stuff I consider kind of inedible.”

The president is such a fan of the golden arches that he even worked a shift at a Pennsylvania McDonald’s during the election campaign.

In November 2023, Trump released a note from his physician which said he was in “excellent heath”—while adding that “he will continue to enjoy a healthy active lifestyle for many years.”

The note also claimed Trump had “reduced his weight through an improved diet and continued daily physical activity.”

In August of that year, while reporting to the Fulton County Jail after being arrested on charges of election interference, Trump wrote that he was 6′ 3″ and weighed just 215 pounds.

Earlier this month, the Trump administration confirmed the president “will complete his routine annual physical exam next month at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center (WRNMMC)” with Dr. Sean Barbabella, physician to the president.

A date was not specified, though the administration added, “The date of his physical exam will be released publicly in the next few weeks.”
