The wildfires ripping through Los Angeles have halted the production of Jimmy Kimmel Live, Grey’s Anatomy and several other hit television shows. The suspensions came as the LA County Fire Department ordered filming permits to be withdrawn in several neighborhoods including Altadena, La Crescenta and Pasadena. “Personnel resources ordinarily available to support film production may not be available during the local State of Emergency,” FilmLA said in a statement. Meanwhile, NBCUniversal has suspended the production of Hacks, Loot, Ted, Suits: L.A. and Happy’s Place, according to Variety. Amazon has also delayed production for Fallout, while CBS Studios halted tapings for NCIS, After Midnight, Poppa’s House, and The Neighborhood. Disney has similarly shut down production on Doctor Odyssey, Grey’s Anatomy, and Jimmy Kimmel Live. Several awards ceremonies have also been affected by the wildfires. The Critics Choice Awards, originally set to take place on Sunday at the Santa Monica Airport, has been postponed. The American Film Institute’s Awards luncheon on Jan. 10 is also being rescheduled, while the British Academy of Film and Television Arts Tea Party has been canceled. At least two people have died and thousands have evacuated as wildfires engulf parts of Southern California.
