Jon Stewart Uses Dog Puke Analogy to Say F-U to Trump Amid Tariff Saga

STRANGE BUT EFFECTIVE

The podcast host likened President Donald Trump’s claims of victory in the trade war with Canada to his canine pal vomiting on the rug, then eating it.

Comedian Jon Stewart used a peculiar, but effective, analogy about his dog vomiting to ridicule President Donald Trump’s claim of victory in his tariff wars.

The host dragged Trump for declaring victory over Canada and Mexico after a flurry of frantic calls north and south of the border last week resulted in his much-touted 25 percent tariffs being put on ice for a month. Stewart likened it to a “stunt” his dog used to pull.

“The dog used to vomit on the rug, and then he would eat it, and then he would look up at me, like, ‘Huh, how about that? I just cleaned up for you. How about a treat?’” Stewart joked on his Weekly Show podcast. “I’m, like, but you f-----g threw up. That’s you. You did that. You don’t get a treat.”

Trump’s proposed tariffs, which caused a frightening stock market plunge, were set to go into effect Monday evening. But by Monday afternoon, diplomacy had prevailed. Even still, Trump declared himself a victor on Truth Social, proclaiming “FAIRNESS FOR ALL.”

Stewart lambasted the “chaos of launching tariff wars in the morning, calling them off by afternoon and claiming victory, as though somehow in the intervening six to eight hours of bluster, the countries that you had challenged had fallen to their knees in prayer.”

Continuing in jest, Stewart imagined a war in which Trump bombs Canadian maple syrup factories and Americans queue up to get enter the country.

“The Canadians [would be] standing there pushing us back, trying not to let us get in there and f--k up their lower rents than ours,” he joked.

Canadian and Mexican policymakers have drafted counter-tariffs that are waiting in the wings should Trump proceed. China has already imposed an array of retaliatory tariffs on U.S. goods and launched an antitrust probe into Google.

If Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum or Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau decide to fight back, “possible pain” could be on the horizon, Trump conceded.
