Leavitt Insists Loomer Isn’t Advising Trump Despite Another White House Visit

MAGA DARLING

Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt was adamant Tuesday that the MAGA darling Laura Loomer is not advising President Donald Trump, despite her visiting the White House twice in as many months.

Loomer, 32, met with Vice President JD Vance at the White House on Tuesday, but details about their discussion have not been made public.

Loomer, a fervent poster who has sharply criticized the Trump administration’s internal vetting, did not immediately address reports about her meeting. When asked if the right-wing figure had become an informal White House adviser, Leavitt said no.

“She is not [advising Trump],” Leavitt said. “I do know she met with the vice president. As for what was discussed in that meeting, I would defer you to his team.”

Loomer last visited the White House exactly two months prior, on April 3, and met with Trump in the Oval Office. Later that day, Trump fired National Security Council officials whom she had branded as disloyal to the MAGA movement.

Weeks later, former National Security Adviser Michael Waltz, another Loomer target who also embarrassed the administration during Signalgate, resigned his Cabinet position.

Loomer wasted no time taking credit for the intra-party scalping. She seized on the verb “Loomered” to describe those whose careers she upended for their fatal flaw of not being loyal enough to Trump, at least by her lofty standard.

The firings appear to have further energized Loomer, whose devout support of Trump skyrocketed her from the web’s far-right fringe, having once posted a video claiming the Sept. 11 attacks were an “inside job,” to having the ear of two of the most powerful men in the world.

The Arizona native, who now calls Florida home, has not been shy about her desire to work for Trump. In the early days of his most recent campaign, Loomer was on the cusp of being an official Trump aide, with a start date set for April 1, 2023.

She said that Trump lavished her with praise after a meeting at Mar-a-Lago and asked for her to be hired. However, her offer was withdrawn after a New York Times report about her hiring sparked internal outrage in Trumpland.

The loss of an official campaign gig did not deter Loomer, however. She still worked to derail Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis’ primary challenge of Trump, going so far as to show up at his rallies to heckle him and his wife, Casey, over her wardrobe choices.

“I really viewed being able to work for President Trump as an opportunity to rebuild my reputation and life after so much had been taken from me,” she told The Washington Post last year. “Donald Trump is, like, hope for me. I don’t really feel like I have anything in my life. I got canceled everywhere for what, speaking the truth? And they treat me like a criminal. Half the world thinks I’m a Nazi. I didn’t do anything wrong.”

Loomer and Trump remained chummy during his campaign, and she traveled to Philadelphia on his plane ahead of his debate with former Vice President Kamala Harris in September. This closeness sparked unfounded rumors that the two, who have a number of smiling photos together, may be having an affair. Loomer has strongly denied the rumor, calling it a “blatant lie.” Trump, who has been married to First Lady Melania Trump since 2005, never addressed it himself.

More recently, Loomer outright asked Trump to hire her for student visa vetting last week.

“The White House is considering doing vetting on the social media accounts of foreign students,” she posted. “Sounds like a dream job for me. I would love to research foreign students all day and find an excuse to block them from coming into our country based on their radicalism. Sign me up.”

While sources told Wired this week that those in Trump’s inner circle are fed up with Loomer’s online antics, her plea for a job in the administration caught fire on X. It was liked by 40,000 users and was endorsed by many of the platform’s growing number of MAGA influencers.
