Watch Lady Gaga Hilariously Lose It While Eating Spicy Wings on ‘Hot Ones’

THE EDGE OF GLORY

In between giggle fits and tears, Gaga dished with “Hot Ones” host Sean Evans about whether she ever considered walking away from her career. It’s all incredibly endearing.

Lady Gaga looked like an angel while taking on the wings of death.

On Thursday, Feb. 13, Gaga appeared on the newest episode of First We Feast’s Hot Ones, a show where celebrities eat increasingly spicy hot wings while answering questions from the host, Sean Evans. Gaga wore a white outfit for the occasion, braving sauce stains as she struggled to handle the food due to the elaborate bouquets of sculpted flowers that rested upon her shoulders like angel wings.

“I’m going to eat with one hand, because I’m fashion impaired,” Gaga declared.

The star, riding high off the buzzy release of her new single “Abracadabra,” opted to pair the hot sauce with vegan wings, expressing surprise at their tastiness and some fear about the spice level for the first few wings. “This is where we are starting?” Gaga asked. Evans laughed, assuring her she wasn’t the first guest to express shock about the show’s baseline spice levels. “It’s a humbling show, I know.”

Despite some initial apprehension, Gaga handled the challenge like a champ, maintaining her poker face throughout most of Evans’ questions—the only visible sign of her discomfort coming from a few lone tears that shone in her eyes. And for the most part, the star managed to hold off on drinking water to cool down from the spice, even as Evans himself reached for his glass more than a few times.

In the interview, Gaga spoke about how she tends to obsess over the production side of things for her albums, especially when it comes to selecting certain “spicy synths” and guitars to put on her tracks.

“When I’m making a record, it’s about figuring out how I am going to hone my sound from song to song to make the album feel holistic,” Gaga said.

The star also answered questions about some of her previous hits, commenting on an earlier statement she made to the media where she compared writing “Born This Way” to the Immaculate Conception, claiming to have written the song in under 10 minutes.

“Oh my god, I said that!?” Gaga asked, laughing at the absurdity of her statement. Later, she acknowledged that she did indeed write it in 10 minutes. “For a lot of songs, I hear them really quickly, and then I just have to follow [that inspiration].”

Evans tied up the interview by asking Gaga if she ever considered walking away from the popstar life because of the fame.

“That is an incredibly deep question to ask me in this vulnerable moment,” Gaga said, referring to the pair reaching the spiciest wing of the challenge. “There were definitely times when I felt like maybe I should walk away, but I know for sure that I never would.”

With her highly anticipated album, Mayhem, set to release on Mar. 7, it’s clear that Gaga has no intentions of giving up her crown as the reigning pop star queen anytime soon.
