This New Rom-Com Takes ‘Toxic Situationship’ to a Wild New Level

LOVE HURTS

Logan Lerman and Molly Gordon star in the new trailer for “Oh, Hi!”

Sometimes, you just have to handcuff someone to a bed to find out how they really feel about you.

Sony Pictures Classics just unveiled the first trailer for Oh, Hi!, a comedy film about, Iris (Molly Gordon) and Isaac (Logan Lerman), who are on their first vacation as a new couple.

At first, everything is great. Isaac cooks a romantic scallop dinner, the two dance under some fairy lights, and they even explore BDSM for the very first time. However, when Iris uses the word “couple,” commitment-phobe Isaac quickly corrects her, upending their weekend getaway in the worst way possible.

“Why would you bring me here? Why would you spend all day acting like my boyfriend!?” Iris says to a handcuffed Isaac in the trailer.

“You’re being kinda crazy right now,” he replies, presumably trying to calm her down.

Shockingly, it doesn’t work.

Directed by Sophie Brooks, the film stars Geraldine Viswanathan, John Reynolds, David Cross, Jimmy Gary Jr., and Polly Draper.

Oh, Hi! first premiered at the 2025 Sundance Film Festival, receiving primarily positive reviews from critics across the board. Kevin Fallon from The Daily Beast’s Obsessed dubbed it a “hilarious comedy” that breaks rom-com genre conventions. The Wrap also said the film was unexpected, writing, “It zigs where you think it’ll zag.”

As soon as the trailer dropped, fans of Logan Lerman and Molly Gordon freaked out about their faves being in a movie together.

“LOGAN LERMAN AND MOLLY GORDON YESSSSS,” an X user wrote, posting stills from the trailer.

“I’ve said this before, but I think Molly Gordon is the voice of a generation, and I’ll watch anything she’s involved in,” another user declared.

In an interview with Vanity Fair, Gordon shared what she and Brooks hope people will get from the film.

“With apps, it’s just such a hard time to date in our modern age, and we’ve had a communication breakdown between sexes,” she said. “We just wanted to make something that is about how hard it is to just be honest about how you feel about someone.”

Set to hit theaters on July 25, Oh, Hi! will take a classic situationship to a new unhinged level.
