Netflix Will Traumatize You With Deep Dive Into Poop Cruise

PEE-YEW

‘Trainwreck: Poop Cruise’ details the infamous disaster of the 2013 Carnival Triumph voyage.

After this documentary, you may never want to go on another cruise ship again.

Netflix just dropped the first trailer for Trainwreck: Poop Cruise, just one episode in its eight-part anthology series that details the most bizarre and outrageous media spectacles of the 21st century. The first season of the documentary series focused on the events of Woodstock ‘99.

The episode centers on the notorious 2013 voyage of the Carnival Triumph, a four-day cruise from Galveston, Texas, to Cozumel, Mexico, carrying over 4,000 passengers and crew that quickly spiraled into chaos after an engine room fire triggered a massive electrical failure.

Stranded and powerless in the Gulf of Mexico, the ship’s passengers faced even more dire conditions as food supplies dwindled and basic amenities like air conditioning and plumbing ceased to function, sparking a revolt among the frustrated travelers.

“I never expected having to poop in a red bag,” one passenger recalls in the trailer, as footage cuts to the red biohazard bags used for relief.

It didn’t take long for the ship to start smelling, taking things on the cruise from bad to unbearable.

“Suddenly, everyone is out from themselves,” another passenger explains.

Soon, the poop cruise became a media sensation, with news helicopters circling above the ship and crews coming on boats to get footage of the stinky disaster. Saturday Night Live even did a six-minute cold open on the whole ordeal.

While the incident itself wasn’t exactly comedy gold, dubbing it the “poop cruise” back in 2013 certainly opened the floodgates for humor. And judging by the comments under the trailer, it seems like the potty humor is still going strong in 2025.

“Well, that sounds s--tty,” one person joked on YouTube.

Others started calling the cruise the 21st-century equivalent of the “Titanic,” just, you know, with more poop.

Set to hit the streaming platform on June 24, Trainwreck: Poop Cruise looks like it’s going to be one heck of a ride.
