Is The Studio the best new comedy series ever?

The Seth Rogen-led Hollywood satire just broke a record set for the most nominations ever for a new comedy series. Its 23 nods is the most ever for a comedy in its freshman season, besting the previous record set by Ted Lasso. Rogen himself is up for three of those awards, for acting, writing, and producing.

It was also a big morning for Severance and The White Lotus, which earned 27 and 24 nods a piece. The White Lotus saw a whopping eight of its actors receive nominations. The Batman spinoff series The Penguin was the most nominated limited series, also getting mentions in 24 categories.
