Kansas City Chiefs’ quarterback Patrick Mahomes' mother, Randi Mahomes, announced on Friday that her father has entered hospice care, according to the New York Post. She said, “I’m lost for words” on her Instagram story where she made the announcement. She had previously posted about her father being ill last year. The sad news for the Mahomes family comes as the Chiefs prepare to host the Bills for the AFC Championship game on Sunday and just two days after the star quarterback learned about his grandfather. Mahomes is a three-time Super Bowl champion and is eyeing a third consecutive Super Bowl victory with the Chiefs, which would be a first in NFL history. Mahomes and his wife, Brittany, a Sports Illustrated model, have not commented on the news. Brittany gave birth to the couple’s second daughter and third child, Golden Raye, on Jan. 13. The couple’s other children Sterling Skye and son Patrick “Bronze” Lavon, are 3 and 2, respectively.
