The hosts of Pod Save America think Stephen Miller may have been behind the leak about Elon Musk’s alleged drug use to The New York Times.
“The way that it’s written, I’m like, who would’ve given that to the New York Times, including a picture of the pillbox that he travels with?” Jon Favreau said in the episode released Friday.
His co-host Dan Pfeiffer surmised, “Maybe Stephen Miller.”

The possibility would make for “awkward dinner conversation in the Miller household,” Pfeiffer added, considering reports that Miller’s wife Katie, an ex-DOGE employee, left the White House with Musk to work for him full-time.

Pfeiffer’s theory that Miller may have been the culprit behind the Musk drug rumors seemed to make a light bulb go off for Favreau, as Musk and Miller’s relationship publicly deteriorates.
Musk’s exit from the White House and subsequent spectacular falling out with Trump only heightened speculation that tensions were high between Musk and Trump’s deputy chief of staff.

Miller finally addressed Musk’s critique of Trump’s “big, beautiful bill” on Thursday night, posting, “There is no ‘pork’ in the bill. Just campaign promises.”
Musk seemed to confirm that the two are on the outs when he unfollowed Miller on X as he and Trump traded blows. Favreau and Pfeiffer think Miller’s revenge on for Musk taking his wife may have come in the form of the bombshell Times story—and that Musk may have been thinking the same thing.
“Someone noticed that Elon unfollowed Stephen Miller after the fight broke out” between Musk and Trump, Favreau said, theorizing that maybe Musk “suspects that it was White House people who f---ed him on that story.”
Pfeiffer then joked that maybe Miller’s wife “drafted some of these tweets” for Musk’s bitter battle with Trump.
