The Republican National Committee reportedly had to tell Donald Trump that Don King, convicted felon and famed boxing promoter, could not speak at the party’s convention in Cleveland this week. Trump repeatedly lobbied RNC officials to allow King—a Trump backer and friend—to speak, but RNC Chairman Reince Priebus was forced to step in and override the presumptive nominee, as the party did not want to associate itself with a convicted felon. The convention kicked off Monday.
