Trump Threatens to Sue the Media Over Stories He Doesn’t Like

CENSORSHIP

The president suggest that he would continue his press crackdown in a fiery Truth Social post aimed at dissenting outlets and authors.

President Donald Trump is on the war path again, this time railing against the media and publishers whose stories he doesn’t like.

Trump took to his platform Truth Social to suggest that any negative press is a result of left wing media attacking him for the “Best Opening Month” of presidency the U.S. has ever seen.

And, amid a flurry of discontent for his apparent press crackdown, he fought back against what he claims is poor practice from the media. “As a President who is being given credit for having the Best Opening Month of any President in history, quite naturally, here come the Fake books and stories with the so-called ‘anonymous,’ or ‘off the record,’ quotes,” he said, without mentioning specific articles, or books.

However, his timely criticism comes as the Daily Beast got its hands on All or Nothing: How Trump Recaptured America, written by Michael Wolff. The book claims that first lady Melania Trump “f---ing hates” her husband, and that the president was afraid he was about to die in a plane that was previously owned by notorious sex abuser Jeffrey Epstein.

“At some point I am going to sue some of these dishonest authors and book publishers, or even media in general, to find out whether or not these ‘anonymous sources’ even exist, which they largely do not,” he raged in the Wednesday morning post. “They are made up, defamatory fiction, and a big price should be paid for this blatant dishonesty. I’ll do it as a service to our Country. Who knows, maybe we will create some NICE NEW LAW!!!”

In an earlier message he raged against the The Wall Street Journal’s editorial board, after its latest piece condemned the president’s decision to go ahead with previously delayed 25 percent tariffs on Mexico and Canada.

“They come to my aid when I least expect it, sometimes strongly, and I greatly appreciate that — Very meaningful! But then they come out with some real CLINKERS, like today’s Editorial that my Auto Tariffs will hurt the Michigan Automobile Business. They are sooo WRONG, in fact, it is just the opposite,” he raged.

He said that the tariffs will actually help Michigan, adding with a typo that he “easily one” the state in the 2024 election. “AMERICAN industry will thrive, and we will MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!!!” he signed off in classic Trump style.

The social media meltdown comes as Trump’s MAGA makeover of the media continues. He controversially barred AP reporters from the White House over their policy on the Gulf of Mexico, and reports suggest that the president is now hand-picking the reporter pool there.

Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt announced the decision Tuesday. The move breaks away from a century-old tradition of the White House Correspondents’ Association (WHCA) selecting the pool. The group said the decision “tears at the independence of a free press”.
