Tucker Carlson will take over Megyn Kelly’s soon-to-be vacant 9 p.m. time slot, according to The New York Times, and daytime news anchor Martha MacCallum will take Carlson’s 7 p.m. time slot for the first 100 days of Donald Trump’s presidency. MacCallum currently co-anchors the 9 a.m. and 10 a.m. hours on Fox with Bill Hemmer. Kelly announced earlier this week that she will leave Fox News for a broad new role at NBC News, where she will host a daytime show, anchor a Sunday night newsmagazine program, and participate in the network’s political events coverage. Kelly’s last day at Fox is Friday.
On Twitter shortly after the news was announced, Kelly congratulated both Carlson and MacCallum. “Congratulations to my friend @TuckerCarlson on moving to the 9p slot at Fox! This is a great decision by FNC & I will be cheering him on!” Kelly tweeted, adding: “And congrats to the always classy @marthamaccallum on moving to the 7p! She’s amazing & will shine at any hour.”
