Warner Bros. Chairman and CEO Kevin Tsujihara resigned from his post Monday, following allegations that he used his status to improperly advance the career of a woman with whom he was having an affair. “After lengthy introspection, and discussions with [WarnerMedia CEO] John Stankey over the past week, we have decided that it is in Warner Bros.’ best interest that I step down as Chairman and CEO,” Tsujihara wrote in a memo cited by Variety. He added that while he was “honored” to have led the company, “it has become clear that my continued leadership could be a distraction and an obstacle to the company’s continued success.” Tsujihara’s departure comes after WarnerMedia launched an investigation into allegations that he had a sexual relationship with British actress Charlotte Kirk and used his clout to land her roles on Warner Bros. projects. Both Kirk and Tsujihara have denied that they did anything improper.
