Wendy Williams made a rare public appearance Thursday, showing up to celebrate her son Kevin Hunter Jr.’s graduation from Florida International University. Williams has not been spotted often since her medical care team announced in February that she had been diagnosed with primary progressive aphasia and frontotemporal dementia. In a photo obtained by People magazine, Williams could be seen Thursday alongside her family members while sitting on a motorized scooter. She cried when her son crossed the stage to receive his diploma, Page Six reported. Williams’ iconic talk show, The Wendy Williams Show, was canceled in June 2022 as she was dealing with a host of health issues, including Graves’ disease. After her team announced her dementia diagnosis earlier this year, Williams asked for “personal space” in a statement to People magazine. “I continue to need personal space and peace to thrive,” Williams said. “Please just know that your positivity and encouragement are deeply appreciated.”
