Following in the footsteps of Jada Pinkett Smith and Spike Lee, Will Smith said he will skip the Oscars this year over the lack of minority nominees. “Diversity is the American superpower. That’s why we’re great,” Smith said on Good Morning America. The actor noted his wife didn’t tell him beforehand about her Facebook video announcing a boycott, but that he was proud of her decision: “I was knocked over, you know? I was happy to be married to that woman.” He added, “If we’re not a part of the solution, we’re a part of the problem.”
